Wordsworth Hoping for First Team Action Tuesday, 9th Apr 2013 15:35 Midfielder Anthony Wordsworth is hoping for some first team action between now and the end of the season. The 24-year-old made his return to action in last night’s 3-2 U21s defeat to Charlton after cracking three vertebrae in his full debut at home to Blackpool in February.
Wordsworth told the club site that he was pleased to be back: “It was good to be out there and it was the first 90 minutes I’ve played since the start of January.
“It’s been just over 12 weeks since I last played a full 90 so that was the most important thing for me, to get through the whole game.
“I was delighted to get through it unscathed, although a little stiff afterwards, but obviously we were all disappointed with the result.
“The main thing for me now is to try and get back into the first team. There aren’t too many fixtures left but I’m hoping I can get some games under my belt before the end of the season and play my part in the run-in.”

No point rushing him in and having him out for pre season as well. While it isn't mathematical I am pretty certain we are not going down so I would rather wait till next season if not then give him 30-40 minutes a game.

I remember many people was convened about his work rate when we signed him; however last night he was impressive- I'm looking forward to his rerun in the first team as soon as he is believed to fit and ready.

He has done well to come through what sounded to be a horrendous injury, but no point in coming back too soon. Just get fit and come out all guns blazing next season.

Dunno about everyone else but for the first time in years I'm glad we have some players that actually belong to town that will be playin next year ! Usually at te start of every season we have to go out and buy 11 players but this year we have nearly a suitable 11 Loach , Hewitt , chambers , smith , cresswell Edwards (last year) hyam , maybe a new cm , Wordsworth Mcgoldrick looks likely with nouble Leaving chopra and drury and jet just to name a few still under contract who are capable on this division ! Hoping Wordsworth can contribute
