Friday, 17th Oct 2014 12:08

First-year pro Omar Sowunmi is joining Vanarama Conference side Braintree Town on a one-month youth loan.

The 18-year-old centre-half could make his debut for the Iron in their away game at Altrincham on Saturday.

Colchester-born Sowunmi, who signed a one-year professional deal in the summer having come through the academy, will be at Cressing Road until mid-November, but will also be able to play for Town’s U21s.

Meanwhile, young midfielder Jack Willbye has returned to the Blues after a month with Ryman League Premier Division Bury Town.

Really like the look of this guy and as others have said on here his style is similar to that of Tyrone Mings - lets hope he is as good. He did impress against Swansea U21s.

The conference is a good standard. Should do Omar a lot of good. Toughen him up a bit too. Is Matt Clarke too near the team to do a similar thing?
