Fryers Delighted to Have Joined Town Promotion Push
Friday, 27th Mar 2015 14:13

New loan addition Zeki Fryers says he’s delighted to have joined the Blues’ promotion push. The Crystal Palace left-back signed on loan for the rest of the season yesterday.

“I’m delighted to be here and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead,” the 22-year-old told the club site.

“Ipswich is a massive club and the players are doing really well this season, looking to earn promotion to the Premier League.

“I played against them earlier this season for Rotherham [in the Blues' 2-0 defeat at the New York Stadium] and hopefully now I can do my best wearing the Ipswich shirt.

“I’ve had a good grounding as a youngster with Spurs and Manchester United and obviously I’m a Palace player now, so hopefully I can use those experiences to help Ipswich get to the top flight. That’s the aim anyway.”

Fryers could make his Blues debut in the home game against leaders Bournemouth on Good Friday with Tyrone Mings suspended for two matches after reaching 10 bookings and Jonny Parr having been playing in midfield prior to missing the 1-0 win at Watford with a minor knock.

Welcome Zeki, you'll have to excuse our excitement over the return of your team mate Jonny Williams, we all go a bit mad when he's here! 😂 but don't let that put you off, we're a welcoming fan base, we certainly welcome effort & desire, show that & you'll soon become a fans favourite, all the best with your time with us 👍

Would be a bit hard on Parr if he misses out to two of his former team mates, either in place of Mings during his suspension, or from the role he's been playing in midfield, if Williams takes up one of the midfield spaces.

Jonny Parr deserves his place in the team on merit i also don't want to see him pushed out by any loan player whoever he maybe.

Guys, you should be welcoming Zeki on this page not bemoaning possible but unlikely injustices. Although I agree. On the correct note, welcome to our great club Zeki and I hope you enjoy your time here and help us to the promised land. COYB

Let me start again.... You look at the squad now and we have 8 defenders who could play a part next Friday, at least 8 midfielders and 5 strikers, it's been a while since we had such a luxury

I can see Parr being played wide midfield left, in front of Fryers. Get the best of both worlds then.

Welcome Zeki, if you have the same enthusiasm and impact as your Palace team mate Jonny, then you will enjoy your time in Suffolk without doubt and for that matter us fans will enjoy you being with us.

Jay Tabb shows enthusiasm and effort and we all slate him. That alone isn't good enough to be playing at the top level of the championship. Fryers needs to show more than those characteristics, he needs to show he's actually better than what we currently have. (This isn't intended to detract from the good news of us having signed an exciting prospect but they're are posts saying try hard and we'll love you).

I do not think that we "all" anything on here, mow_the_lawn.
I do not think there is universal agreement on ANY player(or on MM or on ME)so to say that
we all slate Jay Tabb is not correct.

Welcome Zeki.

Parr has been excellent and if fit should play. He has been consistent. But, surely there is an argument that he retains a midfield place, with perhaps Tabb dropping out? Tabb has been okay and scored a goal recently, but had been fairly poor for a couple of months. We could look to play Parr, Skuse, Bishop and Williams in the midfield?

Best wishes guys. In my opinion Towns owners/management are proving they are committed to this seasons promotion push. Living here in central Florida amongst other Brits that all seem to follow the more glamorous teams, at last i've got something to crow about!!!
