Wolves Win Chase for Wallace
Thursday, 21st May 2015 15:17

Wolves have fought off competition from the Blues and several other Championship clubs to land Portsmouth’s 21-year-old attacking midfielder Jed Wallace.

Wallace has agreed a three-year deal with Wolves, who activated a £275,000 buy-out clause in his Pompey contract, to beat Town, Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton for the England U19 international’s signature, according to the Portsmouth News.

TWTD reported that Town were keeping tabs on the promising youngster towards the end of the 2012/13 season.

Meanwhile, Birmingham and Wigan are reported to have joined Fulham in showing interest in Blues midfielder Paul Anderson.

TWTD revealed that the Cottagers were keen on the 26-year-old a month ago with preliminary talks understood to have taken place.

Earlier in the week Anderson was one of five out-of-contract Blues players told no contract is currently on the table at Portman Road, although manager Mick McCarthy wasn’t ruling out offering terms later on in the summer.

Elsewhere, a 17-year-old Norwich City fan will miss Monday’s play-off final after being reported to the police for abusing Blues left-back Tyrone Mings during the first leg of the semi-final by someone watching the game on TV in Bolton.

The supporter from Cromer was reported for "racially abusive" language but having been arrested during the match the fan admitted using abusive but non-racist language towards Mings, who was oblivious to the incident.

The person who made the report declined to make a statement but under a community resolution the fan won’t attend the final against Middlesbrough.

blueboy-in answer to your "Do all you?" question-speaking for myself,I can truthfully say:-
(1)Yes,I am there every week(45 of the 51 games in the season just finished).
(2)Yes I have put much money into the club-shareholder,season ticket holder, blues foundation member.
(3)Yes,for many many years-season ticket since 1980 with one years exception, virtually every home game since 1960.

Holt from Hearts is too lightweight. Just about managed it at league 1 level with Sheffield Utd.

So Wolves signed a player we were reportedly looking at 2 seasons ago.............that doesn't mean we made any attempt to sign him now.
As Blueboy made a comment that it would be nice to sign someone early why do people bring up what has been achieved during the season which has nothing to do with his comment!
What has more relevance to his comment is who did Mick sign last close season that has been an asset to the squad..........can't really think of one!

We failed at the final hurdle, and quite a few along the way.
i am sure dealing will be the same as last year.
What concerns me is all those who feel that having made the play offs we will be contenders next year, look at all the teams that have dropped to obsurtiy after loosing the play offs. Having supported town since 62 I look apoun this as another season of disaster, I dont know where this club is going.
Also before every one starts shouting at evans to put his hand in his pocket, he has --60-=80 million depending on what publications you follow.

Seems odd that we don't have a budget agreed already, surely they must have prepared two budgets, one for Championship and one Premier League. Hope we don't leave it late to see who is left!

Better get used to headlines like that....can't remember the last time I read anything like "Town win chase for much coveted attacking midfielder"

The invisible man must stand up now and back MM, we had a great chance this season but failure to back MM with the cash Darren Bent on loan, a right back of some quality our short comings would have been less obvious.

Kuyski think you are spot on my friend.

Think Mick has got to do better than last year, Henshall and Stewart have not set the world alight.

Thats the problem shopping at Tescos, if Evans would stick some money in perhaps we could then shop at Waitrose and get a better quality product.

I actually think Mick knows exactly what he is doing, more or less, and will do most of his work early before he goes away.

MM leaves usually does his business in September, giving everyone a months head start on us and giving the players no time to fit in. Saves ME a few thousand quid.

blueboy you claim to have the club at heart yet you obviously think that only those from the immediate area are entitled to call themselves fans. How would any club excel towards the lofty heights of the premier league without a broader fanbase than the immediate locality? Would Man U or Liverpool or Chelsea be as wealthy if they only had the loyal locals spending money on them?
For my part, I have never claimed to make every game. How could I? I live in a different country. I can afford to get to approx 4 to 5 games a season. For each of those games I spend money on flights, car hire and accommodation in Ipswich as well as visiting Planet Blue and several local pubs and eateries. I have also bought t-shirts, jerseys, mugs, hats and scarves on various occasions online over the years and my guess is I've probably spent more money on being an Ipswich fan than many who are loyal week in, week out season ticket holders. But to be honest I would love it to be the other way around if it was possible.
So don't dare lecture me or claim that I'm not as entitled as you to an opinion on the team. It's loud mouth critics like you that the club can do without (and probably your few quid too).

Beattiesballbag. You said you could not recall Mick signing anybody in the last close season that you considered an asset to the club.
Depends on individuals opinion;but I feel that Kevin Bru,Jonny Parr and Bart have enhanced the squad, all three being signed last July.

....... a leading authority on 'who the Club can do without' now - words fail me, and that's unusual.

Just do what I ask bohslegend -don't read my posts. Thank You.

That way you will not misinterpret anything I post - your accusations are nothing short of laughable.

Blueboy the side stepper.

If you had any credibility you would address what I have just said. Instead you revert to type and (Oh my God! Did Blueboy just call someone names?? Seem to recall you complaining about personal insults made about you before) throw insults around without responding to the charge.

Unfortunately someone has to pick you up on your jibberish here because it's relentless regardless of the team doing well or not.

What did I misinterpret? You claiming the right to an opinion more than I do? Does that mean PJH has more of a right to an opinion than you? You need to quit while a few on here still think you're mildly amusing and not just a bitter old cynic.
