Nuhiu: Town One of the Ugliest Teams to Play Against
Friday, 15th Apr 2016 11:46

Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu believes Town are “probably one of the ugliest teams to play against” in the Championship. The Blues visit Hillsborough tomorrow knowing only a win will be good enough to maintain their faint hopes of reaching the play-offs.

The 26-year-old Austrian says he’s anticipating a demanding afternoon against the Blues.

“I have played Ipswich a few times in the last three years. They are one of the most direct and physical teams in the league," he told the Sheffield Star.

“They are probably one of the ugliest teams to play against. Their style will never change. They have their one way to play.

“Everybody knows Ipswich are a tough team to beat and are always 100 per cent in challenges. They work hard and have earned the respect from other teams.”

The former Rapid Vienna frontman believes his side, who are currently sixth, eight points plus goal difference ahead of the eighth-placed Blues, should be strong enough to get back to winning ways after last week’s surprise 4-1 thrashing at Bristol City.

“You have to battle against them, but I think we have got the players to get stuck in,” he added. “If we win our challenges, I think football-wise we can damage them. That’s what we have done all season.

“If we win our battles, everybody knows we have a lot of quality in the final third which can make a difference.”

It's disappointing that even up to the Magilton era we were known for playing wonderful football. SKY would want our games, even when we were bang average, as they knew we would be entertaining. Neutrals enjoyed watching us.

Now pretty much every fan, manager and player immediately think we're a boring, long-ball, physical side!

We play ugly football, difficult to beat and are respected as a result. A fair assessment.

Pity you need a lot more for promotion.

An accurate assessment. The only thing worse than playing against an 'ugly' team ...... is getting doubled by an ugly team.....

And here's to you Atdne Nuhiu jesus loves you more than you will know. Oooo. As the Wendy fans sing.

They also refer to you as " Big Dave " and think they are playing with 10 men every time you play as they think you are guff.

PLEASE line up vs us tomorrow it will help us no ends.

I think we are now seem like this and it upsets me the most. We were always seen as a good footballing side win, lose or draw. Yet now we are hated by all and sundry and you can't argue with it, all thanks to one mans stubbornness and my way or the highway attitude. I could do a scouting mission on us and fit it on the back of a fag packet. So sad, I long for the day when I can see us use the grass again. Our style is worse than Wimbledon pre 88.

MattinLondon - difficult to beat ? 5 wins since January , I am not sure we are that difficult to beat at the moment - and unless we go out to try and WIN games not 'try not to lose' it will carry on

I thought he meant that every team has to work hard and put in a shift in when they play us. Rather than just turn up, put their kit on and win in first gear.
