Digby and Coke Out Until New Year
Thursday, 8th Dec 2016 21:33

Centre-half Paul Digby will be out until January with a knee problem, while midfielder Giles Coke has undergone a further knee operation and will now be sidelined until the end of next month.

Digby, 21, picked up his problem while playing for the U23s last month, while 30-year-old Coke has now had three knee operations since initially suffering his knee injury in February at QPR.

“Diggers has a heavily bruised knee and it’s been in a brace for the last two weeks,” physio Matt Byard told the club site.

“It's probably going to be another three weeks or so before he will be back training.

“Unfortunately for Giles, he has torn another part of his cartilage in his right knee and had surgery on Tuesday.

“He had returned to training and was making good progress but we now expect him to be out until the end of January.

“Repairing cartilage is always the more preferred option if possible to reduce the risk of osteoarthritis occurring later.”

While not wishing injury on any of our players, these 2 are particularly crap, and won't be missed.

Great signings been an asset to the club and not a waste of a signing on fee or wages in any way , well done MM

Just when you thought 2016 couldn't get any worse. Would be great if the club or the site could provide some means for us supporters to send our best wishes and thoughts to these two players?

Don't want to say anything negative (don't want to finish the day that way). Best of luck to a speedy recovery..

Well, Digby offers little to our squad anyway really, and Coke, zero...

Digby offers little to our squad. Coke should be playing at a much lower level and may well have done ok at York City.

Previous post is a bit unfair, as it's based on only seeing 9 out of his 13 performances for us. He might have played well in the other games.

Diggers hasn't really done anything, but always cast my mind back to that Middlesbrough game and he's fairly young, so I don't mind keeping him, but WHY IS COKE STILL HERE?! Must have good banter or something...

When we signed Coke, did wonder why were were signing an ageing, lower league journeyman with a history of injury problems. I still don't know!

Me and my Aunt would be more use to the squad than these 2, as said well bought Mick!

The usual pretendy Town supporters aka Budgies posting on here making fun out of players in pain. Sickening.

I kind of understanf the Digby signing as he was quite versatile for his age and had played at a decent international levels but i never understood why on earth we went for Coke. Why is he still on the books? Is he really ever going to play 1st team football.
