Taylor Receives International Clearance
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2017 17:29

Town have confirmed that new central defender Steven Taylor’s international clearance has come through in time for him to be available for this evening’s game against Derby County.

The 31-year-old, who has been handed the number two shirt at Town, signed a contract with the Blues which runs to the end of the season yesterday but wasn’t expected to be available until Saturday's game against Reading with international clearance required as he left US side the Portland Timbers at the end of last year.

Town are understood to have stepped up their attempts to get the paperwork on Taylor’s ratified this afternoon with skipper and fellow centre-half Luke Chambers having been targeted by his former club Nottingham Forest. Talks regarding that proposed deal are still understood to be ongoing.

It's been rushed through because CHAMBERS IS OFF!!!

What a MESS.

I can see Mick walking if Chambers Goes.

Then we're well and truly up Poo alley!!!

I wish ITFC would step up attempts to sign a striker. We were told in August the Murphy money would be reinvested, and here we are with hours of January to go still waiting. Being told about bids being rejected won't wash when other clubs are signing strikers. This is the last chance to get someone in before the season ticket renewal packs go out. To exacerbate that, if Chambers is sold for £1M without any of that being spend either do not expect fans to be happy.

Why would MM walk if Chambers leaves. MM must have agreed to it if he moves of course

The single biggest problem this club has had for the last few years was Chambers as captain, which meant he had to play, out of position. We are about to solve the problem, and pocket a few quid (hopefully) too. Taylor will be fine, after a few games, and Smith will be back as well. Things are actually on the up I feel.

Mark. £1 million for Chambers, when his contract is nearly up where did this figure come from. I bet if he does go it is nowhere near that as ITFC want him off the wage bill.

This is complete panic. Our club is sadly a small fraction of what it used to be. It's now a joke with a terrible owner.

Lets look at the bigger picture for a moment, in just a few weeks we will be heading up the A140, they hav spent 17 million i,m told in the window!! 17 million!! kinnell!
So what have we done? spent £110k! have two players fom the Vanarma leauge, a loan and a 31 year old that could not get a club!
If everything was equal, we should be heading back down that A140 with a complete thrashing having being dealt out!
I for one am not looking forward to it in any way! sod the league position this is the match that counts! we have to give a good showing of ourselves, with just what little we have got!
So who do we blame, ME?or MM?

I saw this headline on Sky news and first thought.... kin hell we loaned him out and then read on. Totally deflated:

LOAN FOR MCCARTHY.........

Bournemouth Under-21 defender Jake McCarthy has made a loan move to Maidstone United until the end of the season.

Cloddyseedbed - £1M is the figure kicking about on the forum, although I wouldn't be surprised if the actual fee turns out to be lower. It would have to be a reasonable amount though for us to let him go now, especially as we have the option for a further year on his contract.

I will try again, either way it is what it is! all we can hope for is some kind of miracle, that they have an off day, or we just get plain lucky!
