Crazee's Orwell Cycle Challenge
Friday, 26th May 2017 11:15

Town mascot Crazee is once again getting on his bike to raise money for a local charity, cycling the 15-mile route at the Orwell Walk/Ride event on Sunday 25th June.

Last year Crazee raised money for EACH , this year he is supporting another local charity, Home-Start East Suffolk.

In an ideal world Home-Start wouldn’t be needed. But for many parents the pressures of family life are simply too much to cope with alone.

There are so many reasons for this including -poverty, illness, family breakdowns, isolation, addiction and physical and mental health issues.

And this is where Home-Start steps in. Home-Start East Ipswich & Coastal aims to give children the best possible start in life. They support parents to grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children, improve their health and well-being and widen their links locally.

Apart from his matchday duties Crazee has also raised more than a few pounds for local charities in the past by Zipwiring down the pitch at Portman Road, sitting on each one of Portman Road’s 30,130 seats, taking part in the Orwell Cycle Ride twice and the Sport Relief walk, also twice.

Please help not only Crazee but also Home-Start by making a donation here.

I hadn't heard about the Zipwiring down the pitch or the sitting on each one of Portman Road's 30,130 seats - when did they happen?

I guess the sitting on the seats one could've almost been completed during a match anyway?

If the weather stays like this then he will be very hot in that costume!

Seasider: Costume? ...Are you saying he's not a real horse?

Hoppy - my begrudging congratulations.

The most innocuous article, featuring nothing but good news and you managed to find the only angle available to you to have a well aimed pop at the current regime.

Let's not forget that they deserve it.

Jolly well done, and the best of luck to Crazee too with his cycling adventure.

Seasider - Many people thought Crazee was real. Thanks - you've ruined my youngest sons weekend.

No one was daft enough to believe that the 5 point plan was real though.

NBVJohn - I think you'll find I'm one of the most positive posters on this site, and my comment shouldn't be taken as 'having a pop'... it was more along the lines of taking an opportunity to make a pun, which I tend to do now and again, instead of taking everything too seriously.

But you then went on to have a pop yourself, about the 5 point plan... so it equalises my 'negativity' too.

I don't think either of us will get over Seasider's revelation about Crazee not being real though. I'm off to get counselling...

Good work Crazee.

Meanwhile, on a God forsaken Norfolk beach lies the feckless Bluey, laughing at the Donkeys. Shameful. What's happening to this once great club?

Hoppy - you will notice that I gave your original comment an up arrow.

For once, I wasn't being sarcastic- your comment genuinely amused me, and as I said, don't IM/ME and their chums deserve it!

Fair enough NBVBlue - I think it was just the deep-rooted shock about the authenticity of Crazee that did it...

Good cause and hope you do well Crazee...as you can ride a bike can you take over managerial duties as well?

I may be wrong.... but hasn't Crazee fallen off his bike before during one of these charity events? I bet that was pretty funny!
