£30m for Pickford to Everton, according to Sky Sports
at 13:44 13 Jun 2017

What price for Bart?

Seriously - appreciate he won't be worth as much as not English and no PL experience (not that makes a huge difference for a keeper) but I would like to think we would say a flat no to any offers under £10m, and push for at least £12m

I hadn't realised Spence was only 26 - we really should sign him up sooner rather than later as he looks very capable

Obvious Summer Transfer target

Just turned 34 in March, season long loan could be good with NUFC paying most of his wages.......

Obvious Summer Transfer target
at 15:26 6 Apr 2017

Apologies if anyone has suggested this before but a rather obvious summer transfer target could be a certain Daryl Michael Murphy.

He hasn't payed much this season (9 games to my knowledge with 4 goals), they are clearly getting promoted and with limited squad sizes he will surely be surplus to requirements so either available on season long loan or a small/free transfer. Sure we won't get close to his current wage but it must be a definite possibility?

Question is - would it be a good move for ITFC or would it be a step backwards?

Hated Ipswich footballers
at 16:13 13 Feb 2017

Hated is perhaps too strong a word but yes I agree with Andy Marshall, as he had been a long term budgie and played so badly for us that you had to question his loyalty (ridiculous I am sure as he would surely have put his own interests first which would have involved playing well).

Lee Chapman and Mark Fish - as they both viewed ITFC as a pre-retirement pasture!

Town fans at Villa Park
at 16:09 13 Feb 2017

Does anyone know how many of us were there as the attendance number in match report doesn't give an away fan number. I was in the bottom tier which was full and it sounded like there were a fair few in the top tier as well - just interested as must have been one of our bigger turnouts?

Quite looking forward to Saturday
at 10:02 8 Feb 2017

Strange though it may seem I am actually looking forward to an away game this season.

It doesn't make any sense as we have score 10 goals away all season and Villa are unbeaten at home (and don't concede many) - yet I have a bizarre feeling we might pull something out of the bag. Reasons being:
1 - Tom Lawrence
2 - There appears to be no chance of both Skuse and Douglas starting
3 - We may have proper full/wing backs
4 - Villa aren't all that

Anyone else going - haven't been to Villa since the 2-1 defeat in the George Burley relegation season?

The Douglas denial
at 13:05 19 Jan 2017

Whilst mulling over our most recent and humbling setback I once again couldn't fail to notice how poor Jonathan Douglas was again on Tuesday (by no means was he alone on this occasion) and it got me to thinking of whether we really are better without him. In short YES we are.

In the 20 matches Douglas has played this season (including 2 appearances from subs bench) we have won 3, drawn 6 and lost 11 scoring just 10 goals whilst conceding 21 - meaning we have collected 0.75 points per game (I am including our cup games here) and more worryingly scored just 0.5 goals per game.

In the 9 matches he has no involvement in we have won 6, drawn 2 and lost 1, that is promotion form. Scoring 20 goals (over 2 per game) and conceding 14.

So yes our defense is marginally tighter when he plays, but we score over 4 times as many goals and actually win games.

Ok some might argue that he is used more in away games to "sure up defence" so our results will be better however he has also started against the likes of Stevenage and Lincoln (away). The only bad performances he missed were the home tie against Lincoln, the Forest and Rotherham games.

This is not just a slight pattern - this is glaringly obvious! He must impact the players around him in a negative fashion when he plays. WHY CAN'T OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM SEE THIS!!

Without Douglas we are more likely to win and 100% ,more likely to entertain!

Do we have any more Chambers updates today? (n/t)
at 11:10 11 Jan 2017

Yes - the update is that he is a reasonable central defender who has been played woefully out of position for last couple of years
