For all those Clegg fans and boo boys - interesting to note:
"I actually tried to buy him when I first took over here but Watford were looking for a fee in the millions and we didn't take it any further" - we now sign him for £150k...
I seem to remember a similar situation with a certain Mr Chopra! Whether intentional or not - we have ended up with two signing that we wanted (albeit a year later on both counts) but probably have an extra £2-3m in the bank! Its one of the reasons I think some people should get off Clegg's back - sometimes! |

TractorMan - that is a ridiculous statement to make! How ever would the footballers be able to afford these sums on their meager little wages! ;-)

On a serious note I completely agree though! Just read on the BBC website that if Barton accepts his £60k/wk to go to QPR then his agent will bag £600k! They all live in a different world! |

Leadbitter... keeps the captains armband... PJ give me strength... seriously?!? I have yet to question PJ's judgement/ calls and have supported him from the start but please!!! Leadbitter doesn't say a word! Give it to Jimmy or Bowyer - someone who is vocal! Remember the days when Magilton or Holland had the armband - they talked to the team! A captain is meant to lead and be the managers voice on the pitch... Grant... you say nothing?! Nice guy... unfortunate to get some grief from the fans but some people don't work as captain - see G Mac last year. Was a much better player without the armband! |

Really pleased with everything that PJ has done so far. Great signings so far across the board. We have LOTS of youngsters in our squad who will all benefit from the experience of players who have been at it for a long time and played in the Prem! The comments from both PJ and Keane have always been that we have a squad that don't know how to see out a game or remain calm after you score etc. Saturday's game against Peterborough was a classic example - 1 up and then 3mins of madness! More experienced midfielders/ defenders etc. Think that Delaney has looked very shakey so far this season - does that come from playing with younger defenders?! He didn't seem to have that problem playing with G Mac!? |

People will whinge about age etc etc but PJ has got it bob on - players with Prem experience that can teach the youngsters a thing or two. Chopra, JET, Andrews, Bullard, Bowyer - big players that this club wouldn't have signed historically! Good stuff and well done PJ, ME and SC. |
