Jewell Confirms Hamilton Joining Staff
Wednesday, 23rd Feb 2011 16:21

Town boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that his former Wigan and Derby chief scout David Hamilton will be joining his Portman Road staff, as reported by TWTD last Wednesday.

Jewell told TWTD: “He’s going to help us in the scouting department, working alongside Steve McCall and myself.

”I worked with him at Wigan and Derby and I’m delighted to have him here.”

Hamilton joined Jewell at Playford Road this afternoon as the reserves defeated Southend United 4-0, Jack Ainsley scoring twice and Ronan Murray and Reggie Lambe once each.

Good stuff, he's clearly a canny operator

Let's hope he targets some handy players in the summer

Excellent news. The most marvelous Sir Bobby had a superb scouting network. The rest as they say is history.

I can imagine his interview with clegg
"o.k mr hamilton, your remit is a striker that will score at least 3 in 5 games with a price tag of £50 squid and no older than 22" or you fired.

This has to be good news. The guy will know what type of player Jewell like and that can only be good for us. I was very impressed with Drury vs Hull and whilst he was quieter @ QPR looks an absolute bargain. Hamilton helped find Valencia and Palaccios so bring it on!

I agree with Ipswich 24.
Then we need a humungous target man to barge holes in the middle (to find), followed in by someone with positional ability and able to put it away from 6 yards.
And a footballing midfield that can drag the opposition out of place and find the target.
Could be a great 1st team with 2 more signings.
