Michael Chopra’s agent Kenny Moyes has confirmed that his player is interested in joining the Blues. Town and Cardiff City have agreed a fee of £1.5 million for the 27-year-old with Chopra due at Portman Road today for talks and if all goes to plan to undergo a medical.

Moyes, the brother of Everton boss David, says the deal’s not yet done but says his player would like to become a Blue: “Nothing has been agreed as yet.

“It is still a bit premature but I know the two clubs have been talking and Michael is keen to join Ipswich.”

Sod fingers crossed I'm actually thinking of holding my breath!!
Maybe Chops realises we really want him after all the times we've tried??

Maybe Nugent can be persuaded the same and play alongside him??

If he leaves PR today without having signed a contract I don't think we'll see him again, apart from wearing someone else's shirt - leave all the contract negotiations to PJ and keep Clegg out of the loop!

City must be kicking themselves. They turned down £4m a year ago! Good to see good players want to play for Ipswich.

People must stop thinking people dont want to play for Ipswich they do but we are not and should not be the highest paying team and when you are looking at a carreer so short money talks. I would rather it take us 3 years to go up rather than blow millions now and go bust. Look at the Cardiff board they have spent more than they can ever hope make back from being in the prem. We have a solid and sensible board and a good methodology which still in part stems back to the Cobbold eara. When we get back I honestly believe we will stay and have success as well a couple of League Cups a couple of uefa runs etc. From that who knows you have to remember WE are Ipswich WE do not accept pre madonnas and WE WILL SUCCEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chopra in Wickham out so still looking for 2 strikers (possible)

Lets hope Wickham stays or its one step forward and two back

With Boothroyd (on a free?) leaving Cardiff would it be an idea to team these two up at Ipswich?? Would be sensible if Wickham were to go.

You just watch, Come August Billy Sharp will still be at Doncaster and if this or another striker deal falls through, we'll be able to get Sharp at a good price when Doncaster realise that money comes first for a football club?
