Probably a savvy decision really..

He prefers working with U18 and U23 squads where he can make the most impact on a players development and can focus on processes rather than results without the an axe hovering above his head.

Appears to love doing that and is sticking to what he is good at rather than chasing the glory and financial rewards

"Found his level"

In terms of long term career stability coaching below the senior level is a far better choice, maybe earn far less than if taking the glory role and possibly greater job satisfaction watching proteges blossom from potential to fulfillment... definitely less stress!
