This is quite interesting. Climate change could actually reduce the UK's wind power potential and cause wind droughts like the one we are experiencing now due to the prolonged high pressure.

Shows that a robust and diverse energy policy is required that doesn't rely too heavily on one specific renewable but uses many to cover the base load.
That's probably the reason why Florida doesn't have many windy days then...apart from the odd hurricane that batters the state! Certainly something I've noticed since being here.
