I’ve spent almost half my life on anti-depressants... 22:25 - Feb 1 with 7585 views | monytowbray | ...on and off snce I was 15 years old. I used to think it was because of the way the chemicals in my brain work, but it turns out I’m really just miserable because I’m forced to support Ipswich f*cking Town FC. I’m on the verge of giving up until Evans p1sses off, the last 12 years of this club have been an embarrassment with nothing to cheer about when the season was all said and done. I dread to think the % of my income I’ve spent over that time in hope I’d be there for when something special did happen. And the worst thing? I feel like 8 year old me, the one that fell in love with ITFC and would have supported them through thick and thin, would be really disappointed I feel that way. Maybe I’m over reacting, but been reflecting far too heavy about the last 12 years over this run and wondering if we’ll ever have something to celebrate ever again. It’s madness. âš½ï¸ðŸ’™ðŸšœ

I’ve spent almost half my life on anti-depressants... on 06:51 - Feb 4 with 422 views | pennblue | I'd say there is a correlation between MH and Ipswich winning, for sure. Let's face it, we are all desperate for something to shout about. I don't think we even care what League we win any more either. If it is League Two, or the National League, then so be it. Whilst the success of that 1981 team, has somewhat skewed everyones view on what we should expect. There is no doubt the last 20 years have been pretty painful viewing. Evans does need to go, I am sure of it. Him not spending any money in Jan, just sends out all the wrong messages to the players about how much ambition the club has.

I’ve spent almost half my life on anti-depressants... on 23:10 - Feb 1 by monytowbray | Same TBF. Was watching Anglia News yesterday at my Nan’s house and had to turn it off. They were literally going around pubs giving airtime to celebrating gammons with opinions like “I don’t really understand it all but I voted leave so I’m having a pint” without even bothering to challenge them. This is what passes as news and journalism now - just get anyone with half a brain and a soundbite. No wonder we’re dumbing down as a nation. |
I think you're being over-generous, Callis. A much smaller fraction of brain than a half.

If you feel this way, I suggest a break may do you some good, but I would stick with it. When we are as low as we are, every victory will feel all the better. Town fans have to forget the past. History is wonderful, but we live in the here and now. Mid-top half Championship with the odd cup run is probably the extent for 10 years or so.
