You can’t have a long term strategy if you don’t have a long term structure. As long as the manager calls the shots, you’re totally at his mercy. If you’re not consistent with your style of manager it’s inevitable that your strategy is short term these days (managers not lasting long).
O’Neil’s is a half-baked position; nearly what’s needed, but we’ve pulled short of committing. He seems to have some responsibility but little authority, so effectively pointless.
To be fair, a company of the size of ITFC needs to have someone running it day to day. The guy bleeds blue and white, knows the football side of the business well, is an important link between Evans and the rest of the club.
