Not very well by all accounts.

A pretty tragic existence since retiring. When we were brilliant, he was one of my favourite non ITFC players. A wonderful footballer.

England have never had a finer left-back, apart from Kevin Beattie.

Alcohol is the worst drug when it takes hold of people. He never touched alcohol until he met up with his estranged father after playing for England in Switzerland. Once he got a taste of it he loved it too much.

I looked at who was online after I posted and I figured you would be most likely to respond.

Stuart Pearce isn’t far off for me. But yes sansom was a great defender and great bombing down the wing.

I'd put Pearce and Ashley Cole on a par with Kenny.

All three were different types of full backs but all were brilliant.

England’s best left back was and always will be Mick Mills

Used to see him a lot his kid was in the same school as me in the early 90s. Kenny himself would sometimes pick him up and get the bus back into Town with us.

Sansom also had gambling problems. I was told that he was keen to move from Crystal Palace to Arsenal because the signing-on fee would pay off his gambling debts. I guess he has an addictive personality.
