Online tool to map 2D to 3D shapes? 12:06 - Jul 15 with 341 views

Does anybody know of such a thing?

I'm trying to work out what 2D shape I need such that if I pull two cut edges of it together I will end up with something like the 3D shape I am after.

I could install some 3D modelling software perhaps, but I just want a quick and dirty method really.

EDIT:
To answer my own question, trial and error with a piece of paper is good enough for my needs.
