Apropos of nothing at all really, I just discovered that Eddie Charlton made the quarter finals or better of the World Snooker Championship eight years out of nine between 1974 and 1982, missing only 1980. Somewhat a reflection of Town's European adventures.
I'm not totally convinced that this has any bearing on a likely outcome today, although we would probably win if we were playing Eddie Charlton, not Charlton Aff-er-letic, given that he died in 2004. |  |
