He said a year or so back he preferred to be an assistant rather than manager. This is because he doesn't have the ruthlessness you sometimes need as a manager.....or words to that effect.


He's also turning 72 in January.

Sir Bobby passed away aged 76 and Sir Alex retired aged 71.

I think the days of Mills being a Manager are long gone. Similarly, Burley at 64 and Butcher at 61 are only a couple of years off the time when most people retire and haven't managed for nine and six years respectively.

Personally - and I'll admit the recent 2000 Play-off video will have influenced this - but I think Evans needs to approach Mowbray and say come on mate, stop dicking around with Blackburn - come back to Portman Rd and seal your legacy as a modern day legend of the club.
