The subject of your avatar was also once a central defender... the reason he left Oldham for Ipswich was because Doyle wanted him to switch back to defence.

On his debut for Ipswich against Oldham he scored and celebrates by taunting Royle.

A certain Chris Sutton also started as a defender.

We bought him as an established striker though.
