Depends how long protection lasts as well - all these trials will be gathering data over a few months at most, so not much information about how protection attenuates. If you have protection decreasing over time and more new variants popping up, these types of numbers (from the other vaccines as well which are better) aren't indicating that we will be able to return to anything close to normal for next winter (things will be much better, though!). Ahh that's brilliant, that is what was unclear. That's all we can ask of any vaccine. I don't mind getting a little bit ill but I want to stay out of hospital. | |

Likewise, getting ill is part and parcel of life, but add in the scary factor of potentially being hospitilsed by this, scares the bejesus out of me. | |
