US investors on cusp of Ipswich takeover with Cook to replace Lambert 15:03 - Feb 26 with 926 views | BlueWorldOrder | I admit I was wrong again. Seems that the folks on Twitter had it mostly right and this is the only reason Lambert was still in post. He's now going to get paid off and replaced by Paul Cook. Evans will write off the debt to make the deal happen. He really must be in trouble with his main business given that he's turned down offers for a lot more than that in the past. Thank you Marcus. It didn't work out but you tried.

FWIW, I don't think they were. I genuinely think at that point ME had decided that he may well stick it out, no doubt the upturn in form had a bearing on that. But then Lambert started trying the throw him under the bus and fell on his own sword, and then the new man in, I suspect told Evans some truths about the level the playing squad were at. I think thats probably the moment he became resigned to the fact he had to move the club over to people with deeper pockets.

Didn’t Mike O’Leary admit last night that he was given a tour of the training ground months ago by Lee O’Neill?

A year ago I think. At that stage they (GC20), didn't know if it was going to be an investment or an acquisition.
