Before he came here he was scoring goals for fun. He then continued that under Mick until he had the stroke of genius to change him to a wide player and his goals to games plummeted. He had a decent little spell in a struggling side under PL for his bad leg break.

Freddie’s a 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 striker. With a decent partner he’ll do alright for us. Yes he’s older but he’s also now in League One. He gets a lot of unnecessary stick for being a bit part player when he’s a player who needs a decent run with a good partner in a two.


There is no period in Freddie Sears' career where he was "scoring goals for fun". Not even as 24-year-old at Colchester.

Like I say, it's incredible how low the bar is.
