If he was told to stay away from work without for eg being suspended, and if there was a potential breach of his contract, then that is exactly when and why a Union would contact its’ member to discuss things. You and I have no idea if there is nothing to see here as you put it. TWTD has a constant undercurrent of being anti Unionisation.
