Taking back control is great pt4677644 16:45 - Jun 23 with 4169 viewsDubtractor

Through my work connections I've been made aware that the new immigration salary threshold is causing a major issue in the haulage/HGV sector - put simply the significant supply of EU drivers that filled a lot of these roles has dried up, as they don't meet the salary threshold.

For balance, the rise in home deliveries over the last few years has also sucked drivers away too, so brexit isn't the only issue.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

You seem obsessed with filling jobs with EU workers, I think you will Find a big factor of a lack of Eu workers is down to current travel restrictions and a global Pandemic many went home and haven’t returned, And I know it pains you to think about it, but there is far more people out of work, than jobs available in the uk, what we should be looking at is how to fill Those jobs without exploiting Eastern European’s.

No, it is you obsessed with constantly making up stuff I have not said.

So to re-iterate. EU workers were able to take up jibs in the UK because those interested were flexible, something many UK workers were not, for many reasons.

UK workers are now not able to fill the current vacancies for the above reason. But mostly they do not have the required skills. Employers do not share your petty 'little Englander' mentality, and so have been happy to hire those most suitable.

The problem does not lie with EU workers being suitable, but why so many UK workers are not. If you delude yourself that blocking EU workers will lead to these UK workers becoming suitable, then you are still in the fog of brexit stupidity.

All that will happen, and is already happening, is the UK is recruiting from non EU countries instead - and, as with Australia, new trade deals with non EU countries will come with a demand for greater access to the UK jobs for their citizens.

You can bleat all you like, but it was always the great flaw in brexit 'thinking'. Much as if we ban non Suffolk footballers from playing for the Town it will allow locals to become better players.

It almost sounds from reading that as if the EU was helping enable the interests of globalist corporations over those of individuals within member nations.

"The problem does not lie with EU workers being suitable, but why so many UK workers are not."

I think you answered that one yourself a few posts back...is it because they live with their kids rather than with slum multi occupancy landlords and require a better wage to be able to fund their landlord's pension?

"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

I’ve not made anything up, neither do I have a petty little Englander mentality..and I never said
anything about blocking eu workers Would make uk workers suitable, I just simply stated if there’s now a lack of eu workers maybe we should put the time and resources into training and encouraging uk workers seeking employment into the vacant jobs. I’m sure when things return to normal with travel and covid , they will return, I work with plenty of EU workers, mainly Eastern European, who have recently returned to work in construction.
