Someone posted just now about it being interesting if the lad Gibbs does a Benyu.
Naturally first thing I do is search where he is now.

He plays for Vestri a 2nd tier Icelandic side.

Yeah. Sometimes you have to take your blue tinted specs off and say actually that's a great move, to a club that has a demonstrable record of bringing young players through into the first team and improving them. Far more high profile examples than us of late. Couple that with how his contract has been dealt with, and you would have to ask why would he stay with us? He can't have had much or any confidence he was too valued or likely to be considered anytime soon.
