Nice Guardian piece with a Brentford fan who saw them play in the first division 08:57 - Aug 12 with 762 viewsSteve_M

Has it always been Brentford? “Only,” Burridge replies. “I don’t see how you can have two clubs. ... If you support a club, you support them. It’s part of your life. It’s not: ‘Oh, I’m not going to support them any more because they lose too many matches.’

Good for them and a lot of truth there. The last sentence you quoted stings me somewhat. I've become utterly disenchanted with our allergy to winning football matches over the last few years combined with the managed decline of the last 2 seasons and a squad who were too feckless to do much more than they did. I guess the fact that I was angry about the Newport result and underwhelmed by failing to beat Morecambe shows I still care, but it's less central to my life than ever before at the moment.

It's nice to see them there and puts our 20 year exile into perspective. I'll be following them closely this season.

It will also give Sky a "plucky little Brentford" tag if they do at all well.
