What gets me is the way he made a big deal out of dropping down a league. Like he was doing us a massive favour. The guy looks a fraud.
The air kick of an attempted volley second half said it all.

he's proven that he's good enough for the championship, so is demonstrably too good for league one!.

the experts were saying doz was too good for this league and would thrive higher up. let's reserve judgement him and chaplin until more than half a dozen games shall we?

He has been quality wherever else he has played. Portsmouth fans were angry we got him as they would have loved him back. These players we have signed should have us all purring over them. The fact that we are not? Look no further than the manager.

ah yes, the old adage of a player suddenly becoming crap because the manager is crap

I never said the manager was cr@p. Every player we have signed is better than the ones we had last season. If they are not performing, that can only be down to the manager and the backroom staff he put in place. The managers job is to get the best out of what he has. Chaplin is a decent player, no doubt about it, so why isn't he and others not performing? Like I say, look no further than the manager.

Who was assistant manager? Who was first team coach?
I am not saying that Cook won't get it right, just don't automatically blame the players. They are following instructions given to them from above. How they have been set up. Carrying out the instructions given to them. These are not bad players and Cook hasn't become useless either, but something isn't right and it is down to the manager to change it. Not a case of trying to put all your best players in and hoping for the best. If the formation isn't working, change it. If players are out of form, change them. It all comes back to one person. The manager. Please, no more excuses.

always blaming the manager for everything is even more simplistic than always blaming the players.

there's a myriad of reasons for any footballing situation: player's form, fitness, opposition, manager, coaching, crowd, organisation, referee, unconscionable errors etc etc etc.

the manager doesn't have control over all these things, but as he has previously got the best out of chaplin, i think he's the most likely to resolve this. we've seen very little of chaplin due to injury, so don't write him off yet
