The Ashes series has been shambolic, changes are very much required. What would be the first few things that you would look to address to improve English cricket?
For me, we need to rip up what we are currently doing and start again after this series. Firstly, Chris Silverwood needs replacing and I'd look for someone that has a good track record on the international stage and bring them in as Silverwood's replacement for test match games e.g. Gary Kirsten. Next, I'd make the county game more high profile with our white ball cricket. Then, I'd prioritise 20/20 or The Hundred you simply can't have both going forwards. Personally, I find The Hundred an utterly pointless competition that has been forced down our throats by the ECB at the expense of the longer version of the game due to it potentially being a cash cow. Finally, the selection process for England needs to be reviewed, the England coach now has too much sway. We've got a couple of players I'd keep in the current side, but in going forwards I want to see an England side that is young, hungry and wants to fight for the shirt. Too many of our players are too comfortable knowing they are sitting on their central contracts.
Just a few thoughts, but these are probably a little misguided, as I'm typing these in anger rather than thinking logically.

1) Ensure that 4 day cricket is the backbone and we build around it
2) abandon the 100 as soon as any contracts allow
3) invest in the T20 with cup, trophy and plate competitions. Winners of QF go to cup final, losing QF to trophy and teams out in group stages go into plate. 50 overs would become knock out cup with England Lions, Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands and couple of minor counties involved with aim of final in September with games played on Sundays.
4) Bring back chair of selectors with 1 other selector and Coach being the panel, captains would be allowed on the calls and have a say but no actual vote. | | | |

1) Have a nice drink and reflect upon why they have made such a big mistake of appointing someone with as little knowledge of cricket as me.
2) Make sure the person in charge of rooting out racism in cricket knows they have my full support and as all that they need to get on with the job.
3) Find someone far more qualified than me to delegate everything else to. |  |
