| Forum Thread | Focusing on the positive at 16:11 5 Jan 2025
Clumsy challenges by Morsy and Davis aside, the overall performance was very encouraging, we looked decent defensively and a real threat in that final third in that 2nd half. I know someone will see that as two points dropped, but I’ve come away from watching that far more hopeful. In all honesty, I’d have taken a point if offered it at 2pm. |
| Forum Thread | Is possession now becoming less important? at 11:41 31 Dec 2024
Lots mentioned from fans from all clubs across the country about the importance of possession to win games, but are we seeing a buck in this trend? Forest being a prime example of it. 10-15 minutes after half time last night, we had 12% possession but during that spell grabbed that second goal via Hutchinson's clinical finish. |

Thought he was solid tonight. Did what was asked of him, couldn’t do too much about their goal. |
| Forum Thread | Those clubs around us at 03:45 4 Dec 2024
From West Ham downwards, we have played 5 teams currently around us in the league table. That’s 5 matches which has accumulated a total of 2pts - Draws against the other two promoted sides; Leicester City and Southampton. In those other games against West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace last night we’ve looked a distant second best, they all played and toyed with us like cat does with a mouse. That speaks volumes for me that we are short of what is required for this league. We all knew it was going to be tough, perhaps not as much as it is has proved. |
| Forum Thread | 12pts dropped from winning positions at 07:37 3 Nov 2024
This season we have had some ‘iffy’ decisions given against us, but we really do need to do better at closing games out. The officiating hasn’t helped at times, yesterday’s decision on Chaplin being a prime example, but we need to be better, we are still too easy to score against, we show naivety at times instead of managing the game out. From those 12pts lost, if we got half of those we’d be sitting in a far more comfortable league position. Yes, we can point fingers at some of the ‘questionable’ decisions, but we need to look at ourselves more. We’ve shot ourselves in the foot on occasions during these first 10 games. |
| Forum Thread | Aaron Villa showing their class at 14:37 29 Sep 2024
Lots of huffing and puffing from us, Villa just look like they’ve got that extra gear or two. This is the reality of the EPL with those better sides. |
| Forum Thread | Take the point at 17:47 21 Sep 2024
I’d have taken the draw before the game. Sounds like we weren’t that great 2nd half, but the important thing we’re coming back with something from the game. No win after 5 games in the EPL, but we are competing. It will be another match our players have learnt from. |
| Forum Thread | Hats off to Ashton, it was never in doubt..... at 12:49 16 Aug 2024
You've got to give it to MA, it's not often he doesn't get business done, I do like how he does it quietly without too much attention. Some fans worrying about the depth of our squad recently, then bang a few more signings through the door and decent ones to boot. He's been so instrumental in our change of momentum as a club, I'd even put him on a par with KM. Both very important in our success in recent seasons. |
| Forum Thread | Is Foden world class?! at 10:36 7 Jul 2024
For a City you can see he is a wonderful footballer, but he’s played a lot of times for England now - out of position at times - but I just don’t see he’s world class? He mainly goes missing in games, you wouldn’t even know he was playing, especially during this tournament although a lot of our players fall into that category. I appreciate Pep sees him daily and rates him highly, however world class players are able to do things, provide the unexpected and deliver a bit of magic, I’ve yet to see it from him in an England shirt. What are your thoughts? |
| Forum Thread | Euro 2024 at 20:19 6 Jul 2024
Pleased for England of course with tonight’s victory, but by Christ this tournament has to go down as one of the dullest competitions in recent history. I’ve watched most of the games and I can probably count on one hand the amount of decent and entertaining matches there has been. We’re meant to be seeing the cream of European football on display and to say it is underwhelming is a huge understatement. [Post edited 6 Jul 2024 20:24]

We can’t win this tournament can we? We’ve been so woeful for the first 4 games, but incredibly still in it! |
| Forum Thread | Whatever the outcome with KM at 13:15 22 May 2024
I still feel the club are in safe hands with Mark Ashton at the helm. I bet they already have contingency plans in place and have their managerial candidates identified if and when required. |

Fury looks rattled to me. Usyk has won the battle of the mind games, cool as cucumber all week. [Post edited 17 May 2024 20:30]

Who is your money on? I was always told a good big 'un will always beat a good little 'un. Fury looks focused, fit, has a huge size advantage and the way he fights, I just feel he's got the edge. However, Usyk is no ordinary fighter, is a special talent and has the Ukrainian nation fully behind him. My head says Fury, but my heart wants Usyk to win. |
| Forum Thread | The Play Off Format at 13:43 12 May 2024
Personally, I think Non League have got it right, one off games with the teams finishing higher getting home advantage. Genuinely, why is there the need to have a two legged game apart from generating money? Also, this whole process would be over sooner, so those Play Off winning teams can have longer to prepare for promotion instead of stringing it out over the next few weeks. |
