Yes, very interesting. Sutton go to MK but their 4th place finish is firmly secure. Colchester are at home to Crewe, who need to win to stay in the play off hunt. A 4 goal swing, but 2-0 either way quickly changes that dynamic. However, Colchester have scored more goals than Sutton if it comes down to GD. Colchester have been flirting with that relegation trap door over the last few seasons perhaps it is their turn to fall through it? [Post edited 24 Apr 6:35]

It’s certainly looking that way. I think we’ve got the toughest run in personally, I just can’t see us getting 6pts from Hull and Coventry, especially if based on our two previous away performances at Blackburn and the Canaries where we did look really poor during both games. Just hope the two week break has helped us. The proof will be in the eating, but we would’ve taken this back in August. |

Of course, but the fact Leeds and Leicester have fluffed their lines recently too makes it seem an opportunity lost. This is the business end of the season and we’ve put ourselves in such a terrific position, but we now seem incapable of getting over that line, we are stumbling towards it. This is why it is strange for me. I should feel happy we are top, but I just don’t think we’ll get the job done, especially watching our recent away performances against Blackburn and Norwich where we looked poor. Coventry and Hull are now huge fixtures. |

It’s those fine margins that will see us promoted and it could be those missed chances which prove so costly too. [Post edited 14 Apr 10:52]

You are right and I agree with a lot that many have mentioned on this thread, but I just have this nasty feeling that those two home draws are going to come back to bite us. I just hope I’m proved wrong. Perhaps it’s just being a Town fan, we never seem to do things easily. With Leeds and Leicester continually faltering it was the prime opportunity in recent weeks to capitalise. |

If you look at a lot of teams yesterday pushing for the title/promotion across the leagues they got the job done. Doesn’t matter what league you play in, as it is all relative whether it was Man City, Derby County, Stockport, Wrexham or Mansfield. Teams like that find a way. Although yesterday was a better performance overall, without Hladky’s two terrific saves in that second half we could quite easily have lost that game. All 3 sides are really struggling to get over the line in the Championship, those home games are crucial for us as I’m not over convinced by our performances away, in fact we’ve looked quite toothless since Blackburn away. We had a golden opportunity with these two home games and what has made it worse is the way Leeds and Leicester have faltered and we’ve not been able to capitalise and make a huge psychological dent. These two games provided that ideal platform, I just hope we don’t look back on those two draws and regret it. [Post edited 14 Apr 8:57]

No games are easy in the Championship, but if you are at home and pushing for the title you should be getting a better return than 2pts from two home games with two extremely tricky away fixtures coming up. So, be honest you’d have taken two points before we played Watford and Boro? We both know the answer to that. [Post edited 14 Apr 8:47]

Of course it was a huge opportunity, you’re playing at home after your rivals have both slipped up and we failed to capitalise. The strange thing is I would’ve gladly taken two draws if we were playing Watford or Middlesbrough away.I find it funny how they are comparing the top of the EPL with the Championship title run, they couldn’t be more poles apart - Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal keep winning, whilst Leicester City, Leeds and ourselves appear unable to win games and keep fluffing their lines. |

We sit top of the Championship with 3 games to go and any Town fan would’ve taken that back in August, but I really do feel we’ve let a huge opportunity slip through our fingers with those two home games. What concerns me is we’ve got two extremely tough away games up next, against teams with something to play for. Let’s be honest, we have looked far from convincing in recent away games too and goals are proving difficult to come by currently. Come the Huddersfield game, it might count for nothing. Such a strange situation. [Post edited 14 Apr 7:58]

Yes, but that means it’s in their own hands, beat both of them and they are in the driving seat for one of those automatic spots. What a crazy league it is, the Championship for pure entertainment is far better than the EPL. [Post edited 13 Apr 14:57]

Feel the pressure is building on all the top 3. It’s like none of us want automatic promotion. |

You hope it doesn’t overstretch them financially by being in the National League North. There will be some really long trips for them in that league. It will make recruiting players really challenging. |

Yes, there's a touch on his back, but enough for him to go down? Not for me. Hutchinson like many of our players yesterday was a big disappointment. |
