The wife got into paint by numbers, which relaxes her for hours, she's always been into jigsaws, which I can't stand, but I've always been jealous of having something she can do at home which is relaxing.

So just after Christmas, I bought one of these Lego Creator Expert kits, sat down with the lad last night and did the first stage of it, took us about three hours, but slap me silly, I was almost Zen like throughout, really relaxing.

At the risk of ridicule, does anyone else do these?

Yep, Lego has always been a favourite with our family, i made 5 cars, the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, several of those cityscapes

Absolutely. Son has been massively into Lego for about 7 years and have been slightly envious of some of the Star Wars sets. Got myself last year some of the Architecture range; Big Ben and Trafalgar Square. Really relaxing way of spending several hours. Highly recommended.

This is what I've been doing. Don't think I'll be doing more than a couple a year.

No, but I do quite fancy it. Kids (and us) spend so much time on screens these days, that we forget what it's like to focus on something like this for a few hours.

I've just bought an Airfix Red Arrow model to make with my kids; thinking they might be more interested in that, as they love watching them at the airshow when it visits Swansea every couple of years.

Models are a similar thing I suppose, but I'd like to try one of those Lego kits. I've always hankered after my own model railway too - not sure I've got the patience or dedication to manage that (plus clearing a space in the garage is a bit of a disincentive!).

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
