If league 1 had VAR maybe we would have got more out of the ref, Accrington wouldn’t have conducted themselves in that way all game, and morsy wouldn’t have felt the need to lash out, so no 3 match ban…?

Is it clear and obvious enough for VAR to change the on field decision?

The video clip can't tell you whether his hand is open or closed, what force was actually applied, even where exactly the blow landed.

From watching a lot of football it's far more likely it's an open-handed push that lands higher than intended, than a punch. Footballers don't tend to punch each other during play, because they're too busy competing.
