Am I the only person who finds this as funny as piles. Watching some clips tonight and I just don't get it.

My father was into both the Goons and Python...as a kid I was heavily exposed to both and although I didn’t understand a lot of the humour, I loved the silly voices, walks etc. Today my favourite comedian is Tim Vine, love the way his mind works. I still listen to Goon Shows regularly and think it’s just genius writing and laugh out loud funny....Python does not do it for me quite as much as it used too, although Fawlty Towers with Cleese at his very best is a timeless classic.

That just shows, as already mentioned, how subjective comedy is - to me hearing any Goon shows or trailers is like a herd of cats squeaking chalk down a board with their claws, can't get to the off switch fast enough, & I'm in my 70s. Morecombe & Wise trail not far behind.

Loved Python, Frankie Howard & Billy Connolly. Still enjoy Jo Brand, This Country, Clue, HIGNFY.

Perhaps people don't go so much for comedy shows these days because Theatre of the Absurd has gone from being a cultural creation to a living reality in the UK - we have a government led by a two-faced clown, who picked a culture-denying, fake-news advocating philistine as "minister for culture, media & sport".

Poll: Town's most cultured left foot ever?
