Hmmm, given Urals crude is already trading at a discount to the international benchmarks I'm not convinced by that. There's very little free storage capacity within Russia either - unless they want to use rail cars - so that would mean shutting off production which then becomes difficult to restart.
Cutting gas supplies completely in a Summer heatwave is also less effective than during a cold spell. |  |

Oh, we're not in a good place by any means - and the Winter could be really bad for Europe - but Ambrose is doom-mongering as ever. On gas, much of the current risk is priced in already although I suppose it could always get worse if Nordstream 1 doesn't come back on line next month. | |
