I thought we started the first ten minutes looking very comfortable on the ball, in control of posession and passing and moving well, but with very little penetration, numbers or service in the final third. Harness was showing some terrible touches, Penney looked his usual scared self, and Burns completely lacking in spark, very anonymous.
Then a Wolf howler, when he just tried to be clever when he should have cleared, especially with two players on him.
As the half mapped out, our lack of ideas, numbers and penetrations stared to glare out. And Millwall started to do more in midfield and get some movement around the box. Honeyman (sp?) a loanee started to show what we were missing.
Towards the end of the half Morsy broke the lines and we have joy, then Evans the same. But Burns and then Penney failed due to a lack of endeavour to do anything. Chaplin looks particularly lost in the system, having to roam around to make something happen. To little effect.
Ladapo has had moments, but little service, and we are not stretching their defence.
Millwall don't look amazing, BUT they are very good at 1 on 1s, which is a good test for us.
Need a KVY, Jackson, JJ.. even a Harper/Humpreys to liven us up.
Yes I know I know I know, its pre-season.. but traits of last season showing through.
Here's to a better second half.
