I have had a response from the club to my complaint about the IFollow audio commentary. They admit that this was a commercial decision, , but stated that the commentator is talented, and will eventually get it right. I replied that the amount of money involved is minimal in relation to the club’s overall budget, and asked what experience the commentator has, and how long is “eventually” I urged them to reconsider their decision, and put the fans first.

Regarding the last bit, it has long been known that the commentary was changing, the club even trialed it at the last game of last season.

I knew the TV commentary was changing, Phil, but didn't think the audio was, at least not for this season. But maybe it was announced somewhere.

I'm not happy. But the club haven't said the product was good or ignored anyone. They've admitted it wasn't good enough and explained they are going to endeavour to do the thing we'd both want them to do.

As I'll be travelling at the time of the next Saturday's game, I've signed up to the audio commentary, so am certainly happy to give it a chance.

I knew the TV commentary was changing, Phil, but didn't think the audio was, at least not for this season. But maybe it was announced somewhere.

I think I reported it as the club not using the BBC commentary this season so wouldn't have specified, although I can see why it might have come across as TV only as it's a precursor for TownTV.

Actually, your news article on 30 June stated the following, which I thought referred to the I-follow audio coverage because it featured in an article about I-follow.

BBC Suffolk will be continuing its long-running radio commentary, while Life's a Pitch returns on July 9th.

I can see the confusion. That was meant to clarify that Radio Suffolk would still be commentating on the radio despite the club doing its own commentary as there had been rumours that it might not be.
