How much of that is because he used to be at Boro?

I don’t think that’s a factor at all. They don’t view them as rivals, despite what M’boro may think. My mackem mate always dismisses them as a Yorkshire nothing club. He reserves all his hatred for the geordies.

I think with Mowbray it’s because he comes across as dour and boring, not least because even as a player he looked older than his years.

I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised, especially as they’ve had nearly as much rubbish stinking out the manager’s office as we have.
