The Rehearsal features Nathan Fielder helping ordinary people rehearse difficult conversations or life events through the use of sets and actors hired to recreate real situations. The situations can be trivial, like confessing to a lie about educational history, or more complex, like raising a child. Fielder commissions extravagant sets with every detail recreated. I've just finished it (don't tell the boss).
Remarkable, hilarious, thought-provoking. Can't quite put my finger on how much the entire schtick is contrived - e.g. the decisions he makes to go further and further down the rabbit hole - were they pre-planned? I suppose it doesn't matter. [Post edited 5 Sep 2022 13:50]
