It’d be a vaguely interesting exercise to work out how much richer those players are now compared to a week ago. Average salaries must be around £5m upwards per year (Man U’s average is nearly £8m). So they’re looking at each being about £250k per year better off. Just another £20k or so per month. Cash in the pocket.

Although it probably doesn’t work like that as a lot use loopholes to avoid tax (or used to at least).
