Our ridiculous and antiquated Parliamentary system 18:24 - Oct 8 with 1173 views | SouthBucksBlue | You couldn’t make this up (extract from the BBC News report about the minister sacked apparently for touching a man’s thigh) ‘The BBC understands that a third party – not the man seen with Mr Burns – raised this incident with party whips, who look after discipline among MPs, and that this complaint led to the suspension of his whip and his sacking as international trade minister.’

I wasn’t referring to him being quite rightly called out for his behaviour. It was the ‘party whips who are responsible for discipline’ which is just comical. Throw in a bit of Black Rod and all the catcalling and heckling that goes on in parliament and the whole system just needs updating and reforming so Parliament can be conducted with dignity which it certainly isn’t currently.

He was suspended as would a teacher, copper or most others were the same accusation to have been made. That the Tory Party removed the whip is a matter for them. It has nothing to do with Parliament, and it did not happen on the Parliamentary estate either So I am not sure what your point is.

It was a dig at the ridiculous, antiquated and undignified nomenclature and procedures of our parliamentary system. The whip being just one example.

It is nothing to do with Parliament. It is an internal party matter, in this case the Tory Party. What this (your post) does highlight is the often almost utter ignorance of how Parliament works.
