Same here, it’s jars me right off that the commentators spend 90 minutes creaming then selves over messi when he does naff all. Such a shame that Aussie run didn’t end with a goal - would have been a cracking goal | | | |

Yeah very close, unlucky at the end and with that great run that ended with a last gasp tackle. Real shame about the 2nd goal - think Australia may well have pushed that into extra time if not for that. | |

It's funny how one and a half games into the tournament, all these commentators and pundits were writing him off. Then he popped up with a goal and since then they have just gone overboard. For me, he was very enjoyable to watch in spells tonight, but is clearly managing his body. Nothing wrong with that, but gushing over his every move just feels a bit like they are all looking for their own iconic moment of commentary should something brilliant happen, rather than calling it as they see it.
He looked mustard in short stints, his run in the second half was lovely, but overshadowed by the Aussie later on. Then Murphy has the audacity to claim that a decent if ordinary effort was "so close" when he would have criticised any other player for not hitting the target. | |
