I know this will get down votes. I'd probably down vote it myself given the chance. But I can't see what he's doing to change things, to improve matters, and to win games where the opposition is doing the same thing time and time again and we do not appear to have an answer.

We've splashed out on attacking players but can't finish. That is surely down to coaching? We seem to concede more often than not when a shot is on target and, again, we don't appear to have an answer.

We have one of the most expensive squads in the league and we're getting nowhere near enough out of them. Something needs to change, and fast. Since the Charlton debacle, the run of form hasn't be good enough to be competitive at the top. And, when a Plymouth side tied together with recent loanees and a Derby team which was a shambles in the summer, are showing quality and consitent, it does result in questions being asked.

Sorry this is tosh. We’re all upset. But it is simply poor form.

Poor form over 4 games. We’re now officially having our blip. When we saw off Oxford comfortably on Boxing Day we were second and our form had been very consistent all season. If we played the second half of the season out in the same way we’d get top 2. Since then we’ve picked up 3 points out of 12 which is poor form. Is it recoverable? I doubt it. But not because we can’t go on a run. But because the top 2 are relentless.

And this pressure you speak of on KM. Are you whipping this up to suit your dramatic narrative?

My dramatic narrative? it's clear the way we're going the season is slipping away from us, so quite naturally the manager will be under more pressure.

Three wins in approaching a quarter of the season.

Definitely feels a bit more than a blip at the moment, like low confidence has set in, added with a lack of composure in front of goal and half arsed defending at times.

A coach can coach players to be better in front of goal though.

Is Lee Grant, an ex goalkeeper and now our first team coach likely to help with that?

They can, but not to the degree they can shape elements of the team game. Technical abilities at this stage will develop less and at a slower rate than what would be reasonable to expect a coach to be able to make a short-term impact.

And the idea that you need to have been a great striker to coach them is one of the past. I don't know if Lee Grant is any good at coaching it, but his playing background is near irrelevant to that.

It is a results business but a coach would be foolish not to weigh performance near equally. We're in some bad form that performance and data would suggest wouldn't be very difficult to come out of. We don't need massive changes.

I don’t think it’s necessary to defend KMcK, match stats and game points speak for themselves however we have a long term plan and a coaching staff that focus on developing players.

There will come a time when it can’t all be about tomorrow, but talk of change is short sighted in this season. I would prefer to be behind the club asking what they are doing to get results on the pitch, if they do nothing different and results don’t turn there are bigger conversations to have but much further down the road. I would expect to see subtle change in the way we play and how we approach games if anything is being learnt.

If you're talking about his former playing position, arguably a keeper might be one of those best placed to coach strikers!

That’s quite an interesting observation!
