might ironically fire them up . Too often the team finishing 3rd blow the play offs especially when they have been in top 2 for most of the season. I think KM has too many in the squad now and its getting like Cook's era now with too many players to keep happy. Ridiculous that talent like Humphreys, KVY and Edwards not even getting on the bench yet headless chicken Jackson gets on, go figure...

Think we're definitely missing a trick by not having Edwards on the bench. He has the ability to really change games with his directness...like Cambridge at home earlier this season.

Finishing lower down the playoffs reduces (for the bottom two virtually halves) the chances of promotion.

Over the last 20 seasons, the team finishing 3rd has won 7 times (35%), the team finishing 4th 6 times (30%), the team finishing 5th 3 times (15%), the team finishing 6th 4 times (20%).

This is about as good an idea as being relegated to rebuild in a lower division.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Also looking out our own history:

Position after winning the playoffs:

3rd: 1 time (100%)
4th: 0 times (0%)
5th: 0 times (0%)
6th: 0 times (0%)

I also just realised another oddity of the English language, 0 is treated as a plural

As a pedant, I find that an interesting grammatical point. And it is the case whether you pronounce 0 as zero, nought or no.

I think there is a difference in the sense that zero and nought are written versions of a figure, whereas no, in the sense of "not any", is a word in its own right. But this difference doesn't appear to make any difference when it comes to the use of "times".
