I love the way so many of our True British Patriots know so little about the building. To listen to a lot of them, it's the building Guy Fawkes tried to blow up. It dates from the 1830s. The chamber of the House of Commons is post-war, having been damaged by a WW2 bomb. It's a level of ignorance on a par with believing the Princess Elizabeth drove an ambulance during the Blitz, or that Michael Foot was the best labour Prime Minister. |  |
