Sam Darlow talked about the club culture being instilled from the top down, and made emphasis on how we (from the seniors on down) are bringing the ball out from the back. It made me think of the Mick days. Mick wanted us to play out from the back (so much so he forbade long goal kicks), but we didn't have the nous to get it out of the back, and it looked like Mick couldn't teach it. All a team would have to do was press us and we'd fold. Now, KMK has us playing out of the back, but it also seems like he's taught the guys a thing or two, giving them the nous to play that style without getting pressed to death. These ARE the days! | |
