People Who Know About Computers... 10:52 - Feb 28 with 2352 viewsTangledupin_Blue

My laptop has just stopped me from allowing access with a message on the screen, supposedly from 'Microsoft Secure Services', giving a helpline phone number to ring. Also an aural message in an electronic voice saying that my IP address has been used to visit website(s) containing ID theft virus.

The message onscreen says that the detected threat is trojan spyware.

Would that be a safe number to ring?

Classic scam, just close it down.

PS. Stay off dodgy porn sites.

I had similar pop ups on my work laptop browsing twtd a week or so ago. Occurred 3 or 4 times over a couple of days but not seen it since
