What can we expect from Camara... 07:12 - May 7 with 4185 viewsblueM3

When the new season rolls round, firstly, do we expect Pan Camara to be here and given a chance? Or has missing the entire season meant everything has changed around him since signing?

Secondly, if he does stay, which position is he challenging for? Or should it be who's position is he challenging for?

I don't know anything about the guy really, so I'm curious where he fits and what he realistically brings to the table. He appeared to come with some decent reviews, so I assume he's no mug!

When there was talk of I'm leaving Plymouth there was a lot of chatter about him going to the Championship. He's industrious so I anticipate cover for Morsy/Luongo.

I'm not sure that he is disciplined enough to replace Morsy or Luongo as one of our CMs - he lacks the defensive capability imo. I think he more like a Matt Crooks no 10 type player who drives forward and crashes into the box - happy to be told otherwise by others who have seen more of him...

To be serious. He must have some potential. He played 2 full seasons at Plymouth (League One). He was popular with Plymouth's management team and supporters until he refused to sign a new contract. Ipswich stepped in and signed him for an undisclosed fee (rumours £500k). In those 2 full seasons he scored 6 goals and had 8 assists. Not outstanding but average.

IMO it's a good sign that a relatively young player (he was 23/24 at the time) was able to be a first team regular in central midfield for a highly competitive League One side. It's also in his favour that ITFC and McKenna saw something in him that convinced them to splash out £500k. Given McKenna's ability to improve players, it's entirely possible that Pan could be a solid Championship player in time. A lot will depend on how he recovers from his lengthy injury problems.

Summary: It's too soon to say but he's certainly one to watch pre-season.

Poll: Should these Polls show number of votes as well as percentages?
