Felixstowe 08:06 - Jul 2 with 2059 views | loyalblue | Lovely little ground but they were so unprepared for yesterday, it was like no one told them there was a game on. Waited an hour for a drink then gave up, went to bottle bar and that run-out, they restocked and I ended up buying cans of warm carlsberg.

What I mean by that is that I went to a one day cricket match at Grantham last year (Nottinghamshire v Middlesex) and it was basically held on a club cricket ground. My guess was the attendance was a couple of thousand, but there were food tents selling the usual rolls etc, burger tent, a couple of beer tents, another selling soft drinks, the clubhouse, of course, a stall selling Nottinghamshire merchandise etc etc. It was one of the hottest days of the year, the beer lasted all day yet nobody went short and nobody had to wait too long. However, unlike Felixstowe, cricket clubs are used to playing at little venues like this but I think from Felixstowe’s perspective, there is an opportunity there.

It was their record attendance, 2300 I think, so take away kids, you e got maybe 1300 people wanting 3 drinks, so get loaded up a couple of weeks before, it’ll keep. Food wise, 20 minute wait, but I was behind Roger Osborne in the queue, so that was alright by me! Good day all in all though, think a lot of folks made a day of it by the sea, Grovesnor was pretty busy afterwards.

Anton Ferdinand also spotted in the stand by the tunnel. Works in ‘sports mentoring’ these days, so Club might be using him in some capacity?
